I. Statement of the Problem
A. Definition: Igor has cheated his professor. He has plagiarized the article. His professor is angry and will not give him a nice grade.
B. Analysis: Igor is an international student. He is a good student in his professors’ minds and he also get high grade, but he has no time to finish a twenty-five-page paper in his American Presidency course. Wherefore he asks George to help him to do it and plagiarize the article. It is excessive.

B. He can ask his professor to give him another chance to pass this course.
C. He can tell his professor truth and promise not to do it.
III. Evaluation of Possible Solutions
A. He can do the research again and give it to his professor.
1. Advantages: He will do it by himself.
2. Disadvantage: His professor will not give him another chance to do it and then he will fail.
B. He can ask his professor to give him another chance to pass this course.
1. Advantage: He can seize the opportunity and has more time to finish it. He maybe will get a high grade at last.
2. Disadvantage: His professor will angry about his behavior. Although he is always good student, he injures his heard this time. If the professor does not agree that, he also will fail.
C. He can tell his professor truth and promise not to do it.
1. Advantage: It will be honesty. He should tell the truth to his professor and tell him his difficulties. I think his professor will give him another chance to pass the course.
2. Disadvantage: He should spend a lot of time to communicate with his professor.
IV. Selection of a Solution
A. Choice: (C) He can tell his professor truth and promise not to do it.
B. Justification: If you do something wrong, never mind. The most important is your attitude. I think the professor will like these kind students. On the other hand, plagiarism is excessive and we cannot do it. If you do it, it means you have stolen their intellectual property rights. The impression for his professor is also important too. In my opinion, when he admits doing plagiarism, his professor will give him another chance. He should seize the opportunity.
