Summary and Analysis
It happened in Fable college in1962. Kent and Larry students of the college entered two parties. The first one is the best house on campus and the other one is the worst house on campus. Because of unpopularity they joined the second fraternity. People in the second fraternity were very kind and helpful. When they were bulled by the first fraternity, they helped them immediately. On the other hand, they always took parties and drank alcohol. It is very exciting and crazy. They did not study and also steal the test paper. Dean Wormer wanted to take them out of the college. He did not allow these students exist. Therefore they were united all time. At last, they use the death mobile to strike and destroy the homecoming parade. Although it is crazy, it reflects the real life in college at that time.
Relation to Case Study
In the case study from Unit 3 and in this movie, we see that culture shocks are experienced by the characters in both of them. In case study 3, Jenny Maria’s roommate takes her boyfriend back home and sleep with them. Americans may think this is common, but it is very surprised to me. In the movie, students do not study and have sexual relationships frequently in college life. Maybe these are the real life in the United State.
Reaction to Film
I will remember the film because of the surprise. It reflects a real life in college at that time. Maybe I will meet in my college life and I will have mental preparation for the crazy things. In addition, from the film I realized the relationship between person to person is really important to our life. We need friends and need their help in the further. Taking a good relationship with friends is very useful to us. A fraternity you join is also necessary. Which kind of fraternity you join, which kind of life you will have.
