I. Statement of the Problem
A. Definition: Francine does not know whether she will break up their relationship.
B. Analysis: Francine Drake white woman. She falls in love with Tony who is a black man. People around them always make comments and laugh at them. They feel heavy stress to stay together.
II. Suggestion of Possible Solutions
A. Francine can continue their relationship.
B. Francine can break up their relationship forever.
C. Francine can be far away from Tony provisionally.
III. Evaluation of Possible Solutions
A. Francine can continue their relationship.
1. Advantages: Tony will take care of her, because he has promised. He love her whatever happen. Francine can have a good husband.
2. Disadvantage: They should also endure the stress from people around them. Their life will not be quiet. They will not be happy in the future.
B. Francine can break up their relationship forever.
1. Advantage: Provisional grief is better than the persistent grief. She can have her new life and leave the grieved place.
2. Disadvantage: She loses a good husband who really loves her. Maybe it is difficult to find a man who loves her like Tony. Tony is miserable. He has not done something wrong. She leaves him just because of the race problem. It is unfair.
C. Francine can be far away from Tony provisionally.
1. Advantage: It is better to each of them. They are too young to deal with the race problem.
2. Disadvantage: At that time, they could be sad.
IV. Selection of a Solution
A. Choice: (C) Francine can be far away from Tony provisionally.
B. Justification: It is better to each of them. They are too young to deal with the race problem. The race problem is a common problem in the Unite State. They are only two persons and they cannot affect people’s opinions about the race. Although the race problem is solved gradually, there still are many people who disagree that. I think that if they really love each other, they can go together after graduation. Maybe at that they have enough preparation to face the race problem. I wish both of them can have happiness in the future.
